With this double dose of adventure, you'll get to grips with the nation's wartime past and see how the locals live in the stunning scenery of the countryside. Visit the fascinating Cu Chi war tunnels and take an off-road safari through real and rural Vietnam – the parts most tourists never get to see.
First up are the Cu Chi war tunnels. Digging deep into the past, you'll descend into a sprawling network of underground passages used by Vietcong soldiers during the war. Explore a labyrinth of concealed trapdoors, living areas, weapon factories, field hospitals, command centres and kitchens, some several storeys below the surface.
After a delicious lunch at a riverside restaurant, you'll hop in an off-road vehicle and head into the countryside. Unlike the busy cities, the way of life here remains almost untouched by time. Riding through rural scenery and typical villages, you'll drop by an organic herb garden, a cricket farm and a rice paper workshop to see a craft dating back centuries.
