See how the locals live beyond the bustling Ho Chi Minh City. Set sail down the Mekong Delta for a day of discovery about traditional Vietnamese life. Cruising the canals by sampan boat, you'll explore the busy port of My Tho, stop to snack on typical treats and visit both a fish farm and a bee apiary.
Life for the locals here revolves around the delta's rivers and canals. So much so, that people mostly travel along the waterways than by road– and its gateway is the busy port of My Tho. Aboard a traditional sampan boat, we'll set sail downstream for a snapshot of lives lived along the riverbank.
We'll visit a fish farm for an insight into the area's cottage industry, stop to snack on tropical fruits, and try sweet treats at a coconut candy factory. Back on shore, we'll hop in a motorised cart to drop by a beekeeper, then hit the water again to head for lunch. To round off, we'll learn the finer points of Vietnamese cuisine and enjoy a feast of food before returning to resort.
