Start your adventure in the town of your selection and plan your own itinerary, decide which cities you would like to stop at on your way, and how long you want to spend in each of them. You can travel in one direction until you reach your final destination. There is no time limit on your ticket and it will only expire when you reach your endpoint of arrival.

Travel in the comfort of a 19-seater semi-luxury bus with on-board Wi-Fi, USB ports, TV, DVD players, air conditioning and trailers capable of carrying surfboards and bicycles, in the company of fellow travelers who share your passion for exploring and adventure. Convenient pickup and drop-off are available from the door of many accommodations (from backpacking hostels to guest houses and hotels) located in different cities, towns, and villages between different cities in South Africa.

Enjoy the flexibility to get on and off as many times as you want on your way, wherever you want for an unlimited time until you reach your destination. Plan your itinerary according to the local supplier timetable (check days and time of departure in the gallery). Reserve your desired bus rides with the local tour operator, either long in advance or book each section of your itinerary as you travel if you prefer to be more spontaneous (at least 72 hours notice is recommended). To finalize your confirmation, you will be given a confirmation number for each ride.

These include backpackers/hostels, guest houses, and hotels to suit every budget and travel style. You'll receive the list of selected accommodations with your confirmation voucher.

What to remember

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, you can only use your ticket starting from December 2020
With your Hop-on Hop-off ticket you can travel for an unlimited time but in only one direction. Your ticket will expire when you reach your final destination.
Plan your itinerary according to the supplier timetable (pdf can be downloaded after the booking). Please book your seat on the bus with the supplier for each trip by indicating your desired departure date, pick-up point, and drop-off point. We recommend booking at least 72 hours in advance
Durban and Port Elizabeth are compulsory overnight stops
Accommodations are not included and need to be booked directly with the establishments of your choice, but you can get picked up and dropped off at the door of your accommodation from supplier list (pdf can be downloaded after the booking)
It is recommended to choose your accommodation amongst the local supplier list of pick-up points so you can be collected at the door. If you choose to stay in accommodation which is not on the list you'll just have to make your own way between your chosen accommodation and the closest accommodation on their list
There are some out-of-the-way stops on the map that are only accessible through the use of independent shuttle services (not included in the ticket price) which link to the bus route. If you require shuttle services, you will need to pre-arrange them directly with the accommodation offering the service
