Visit the one-of-a-kind Sergiy Korolyov Astronautics Museum located in Zhytomyr on a comfortable private trip from Kyiv!
Cosmos Museum in Zhytomyr is one of the best of its kind in the world. It was opened in 1987 next to the memorial house of Sergyi Korolyov, the inventor of the engine and rocket that took Gagarin into space. The exhibition contains many originals, including landing capsules of soviet astronauts, their space food, suites, and photos. Once you arrive at the destination, you’ll explore the main exhibition of the museum with an expert guide. You will learn about the beginnings of astronautics that have made space travels come true.
Later, spend some time in Zhytomyr and visit a cozy Gagarin Park. On the way back to Kyiv there will be a stop at the Korostyshiv Mines, a picturesque granite quarry, filled with water. This quarry is known from 1850 and black labradorite was mined here in the 1920s for Lenin mausoleum in Moscow.
