Luleå has an 11km long ice track which surrounds the city and is maintained daily by the Luleå municipality. In this experience you will be going around this track with an experienced guide and you will learn the basics of Nordic ice skating.
The earliest record of people ice skating goes back to over 4000 years ago in southern Finland. It was a way to save energy during winter journeys but is now popular as a recreational activity, a means of transport and a spectator sport during winter.
During this 2-hour tour you will get to know the essentials of ice skating such as how to get moving on ice, how to slow down and you will even learn how to fall down safely. Halfway through the tour you will stop at one of the resting places beside the track where hot beverages will be served by your guide.
