What to expect

A visit to an Iban Longhouse is an absolute must when in Miri. The Entulong Longhouse which is of Iban origins, happens to be one of the famous tourist attractions in Miri.

A longhouse is basically a communal living quarter, whereby the are a large number of rooms linked together, but shares a common 'ruai', which is a verandah. In the olden days, many traditional ceremonies that are still practiced up till today, were pre-formed at the 'ruai'. On this tour, the chief of the longhouse will welcome and invite you into the longhouse and give you a tour. If you are lucky, you may even get the chance to taste the famous rice wine, 'tuak'.

Lambir Hills National Park is also considered as one of the main attractions in Miri due to the fact that it is one of the most biodiverse parks in the country.

There are a few waterfalls in the Lambir Hills National Park, however, Latak Waterfall remains as the most famous one. Latak Waterfall is approximately 25 metres in height. Upon reaching the national park, you would need to trek for approximately 15 minutes to reach the waterfall. Take a refreshing dip in this beautiful, natural setting and enjoy the tranquil atmosphere that the national park provides.
