Albania is just a short hop away but a visit is like travelling back in time. We'll drive along the Adriatic coastline to the border at Sukobin. Head to Shkoder to visit the ruined Rozafa Fortress and adjacent archaeological museum. Then, you'll visit the town to explore its colorful streets.
A scenic route takes you to Sukobin on the border. After crossing into Albania, we'll make our way to the Venetian-era Rozafa Fortress. This ruined castle overlooks the city and Lake Skadar below, giving you an excellent panoramic view of the surrounding landscape. You can also visit the archaeological museum inside the fortress and learn about the legend that inspired the name.
Shkoder in one of the oldest cities in Europe and you'll have time to wander around the pedestrianized heart of the town. There are plenty of shops as well as an impressive cathedral and a grand mosque.
