This flight leaves from the Mt Cook Airport, a 5-minute drive from the Mt Cook village. This is a 30-minute flight that encompasses all the main geographic features in the Aoraki Mt Cook National Park by circumnavigating Mt Cook, the highest peak at 12,349 ft. Mt Cook is the center of the national park and this circular flight takes in all the iconic geographic features that this region of NZ has to offer.
You will see the longest glacier in NZ, the Tasman, on the eastern side of the main divide, we will then cross the main divide to the West Coast and take in the Franz Josef and Fox Glaciers. Circle back onto the eastern side of the southern alps into the Hooker Valley before returning back into the Tasman valley to land back where we started.
