What to expect

Tour the 35,000-square foot Materials for the Arts warehouse space filled with a unique collection of objects, all donated by New Yorkers and businesses. Regarded as the premier reuse program in New York City for the last 40 years, MFTA is home to donated items ranging from mannequins from Saks Fifth Avenue, rolls of faux snow from the NHL, thousands of 35mm archival art slides from The Metropolitan Museum of Art, and vibrant color tested fabric rolls from Pantone. Meet with featured artists and create unique artwork with MFTA materials. Previous workshops themes include tile mosaics, crocheting, performance set design, wind-chime making, and creating site-specific sculptures.
