Day 1: Three Historical Sites - Portobelo, Panama Canal Expansion and the Railroad
Visit the Portobelo National Park, Museo de La Real Aduana de Portobelo, Black Christ, Agua Clara Locks and the Panama Canal Railway.
Day 2: Panama Canal, Casco Antiguo, Panama City + Shopping
Discover the old town and its rich history. Explore the modern part of the city, walk around Casco Antiguo, visit the Canal of Panama, the Administration building, the Causeway and its impressive view of the city, the unique Frank Gehry Art and the Bio Museum.
You'll enjoy a tailored visit to the Miraflores Visitors' Center and explore its museum, theatre and observation deck to see the operations of the canal. This is a great opportunity to get to know the history behind the Panama Canal administration building. Drive through this renovated area, that once was part of the US military based in Panama and enjoy a remarkable view of the Fort and the City.
Lastly, you'll visit Avenida Balboa, where you can do shopping at the Duty-free shops of Calzada de Amador (Causeway Islands).
Day 3: Embera Puru Village, Chagres National Park and Gatun Lake
Visit the Chagres National Park, its lake, waterfall, wildlife and indigenous village. Explore the Lake Alajuela aboard empirical canoes, be welcome by the melody of the drum, flute, and all-natural musical instruments to relax your senses. Let yourself be amazed by the lifestyle of the Embera villagers, their homes, museum, school, culture and traditions. Handcrafted items are available as souvenirs and you can have a traditional non-permanent Embera tattoo, the ink is made out off of fruit and no needle is used.
