Discover the art of producing Champagne and the history of France with this full-day excursion to Reims from Paris.
In the early morning, your driver will pick you up in Paris and head to the Champagne region. After a 2-hour drive, you'll arrive in Reims. City of art and history UNESCO listed world heritage sites, Reims is an impressive city with its cathedral built in the 13th century where all the French kings have been crowned. You will see the outskirts of the Palace of Tau and, if time allows, you will also visit the St Remi basilica dating from the 12th century.
You will then rally Epernay crossing the unique landscape of “la Montagne de Reims”. The road is surrounded by vineyards for 20 miles making the countryside unique! You will visit the famous cellar Moet&Chandon (or similar) with Champagne tasting; and also another famous cellar depending on availabilities (Mumm, Pommery, Mercier etc).
The next stop before going back to Paris is the charming village of Hautvillers, featuring an ancient abbey, the final resting place of Dom Perignon.
