Nature in Samaná

Samana Zipline Tour
This all-in-one adventure puts you in the seat closest to Samana's natural beauty – the harness of a zipline. You'll start by boarding an open-sided, military-style truck for a journey up into the mountains for the day's main event. From a treetop replica pirate ship, you'll start your downward voyage by walking the plank and zip-lining your way through the jungle. You'll whizz your way along 12 lines up to 300m in length. The final stopping point is right by Lulu Waterfall. And you'll visit a typical Dominican homestead, where you'll have the chance to sample locally harvested coffee and cocoa.

Samana Bay Whale Watching Tour
One of the most beautiful attractions in the Dominican Republic is the Samana humpback whale sanctuary, their natural mating and calving grounds. To see these large mammals breach the water is one of the greatest sights in nature. From January till March, you can see these active creatures frolicking in the Atlantic Ocean. Every year, up to 5,000 humpback whales return to Samana Bay and the surrounding waters to give birth and to mate. You'll hear the call of the male humpbacks' courting song and see the incredible displays from these enormous mammals, flippering and breaching, vying for the attention of the demure females.

El Limon Waterfall Tour
Set among a tropical rainforest, El Limon Waterfall is one of the Dominican Republic's jaw-dropping sights to behold. But what makes it so special is the journey there, high up into the rainforest with the mountains looming over you, which you'll do on horseback. Then once you reach the falls, you'll have free time to take a dip in the natural pool that forms below.

Samana Peninsula Buggy Tour
