Atacama Salt Flat and Toconao guided excursion

This tour gives you the chance to visit the Atacama Salt Flat. At 3,000 sq km, the salt flat is one of the largest in the world. The first stop of the itinerary will be at Toconao, a town entirely built with liparite stone, of volcanic origin. You will visit its square, the church of San Lucas, and its bell tower built in 1750, made of adobe and cactus wood, one of the most imposing in the region and declared a National Monument. In the Jerez Valley, you will admire the richness of the Toconares, a canyon that enjoys fertility and turns the sector into one of the greenest places in the desert. Here you can see fruit trees and varied flora.

Next, you will visit the Soncor sector of the great Salar de Atacama. At the Chaxa Lagoon you can enjoy the varied bird species and the color of the flamingos, the deep blue of the Atacama sky, and the heights of the Andean volcanoes.
