There are few better ways to explore the vineyards in the lava-scarred slopes of Mt Vesuvius than on horseback. This tour takes you on an hour-long ride through Vesuvius National Park and the Tenuta Le Lune del Vesuvio winery. Afterwards, you're rewarded with a light lunch of the winery's home-grown products and award-winning wines.
After pick-up from your meeting point, you'll head to the riding stables. Nestled on the southeastern foothills of Vesuvius, they sit 300 metres above sea level and boast views of the volcano's cone. After a quick intro, mount your horse for a gentle walk through the vineyard and the knockout surrounds of Vesuvius National Park.
Then it's on to the Tenuta winery, a vineyard owned by the Forno family for generations. These real-deal Italian vintners will introduce you to the famed Lacryma Christi grapes they grow. To top it all, you'll munch on seasonal products produced on the estate, all paired with four of the family's prized wines.
