Enjoy a private walking tour through Svendborg with a local guide
Where to go
Svendborg is located on the Danish island of Funen. The small town is the second-largest city on the island and is a perfect day trip from neighboring city Odense. The relaxing atmosphere in the town and the history give the town a so-called slow life feeling. Strolling through the center you will see various local shops and cozy cafes. At the harbor, you can watch the ferries and wooden ships pass by.
The town is known for its music and festivals and is home to more than 700 concerts per year. One of the most famous ones is the annual Svendborg Jazzfestival. In the town, you can visit various museums such as the Danish social history museum and the Naturama or national history museum.
Things to see in Svendborg are the Saint Nicolai Church, the church oldest in town. See the Old Well, dating back to 1400, walk over the Sejlskibsbroen, a historic wooden ship pier and visit the old shipyard Frederiksøen.
