What to expect

Enjoy a tour of Noto, known as the capital of Sicilian Baroque, visit one of the most famous local wine cellars and taste its Nero D'Avola grapes.

Walk past those historic buildings that made the city of Noto a UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Palaces, churches, terraces, staircases, all built using a local variety of stone characterized by a golden hue with pinkish shades. The whole city looks like a unique architectural complex.

Your tour will begin from Porta Reale, the city gate erected around 1800 in honor of the visit of Ferdinand II of the Two Sicilies. The most impressive and rich churches are Saint Francis of Assisi’s Church, Saint Clare’s Church and, obviously, the Duomo Cathedral of Saint Nicolò. The most important building Palazzo Ducezio, where the town hall is located. It was built during the 16th century, inspired by ancient French palaces. Enjoy a walk along Nicolaci street, the city's most important street; it takes the name from the Nicolaci family, who resided in the homonymous palace. Every spring, Nicolaci street hosts the Infiorata Flower Festival, an event internationally awaited. In those days Noto is full of tourists from all over the world.

Leave Noto, and head to the surrounding vineyards, immersed in the scenic beauty of the area. Visit a local winery with the owner, who will guide you to discover the secrets for the preparation of a unique wine. Then, taste typical Sicilian delicacies together with different varieties of Nero d’Avola DOC wines.
