The tour from Tbilisi to Mtskheta offers you a fascinating experience in the two capital cities of Georgia: Tbilisi and Mtskheta. You will see the ancient historical monuments, have a stroll on brick streets, and you will have the opportunity to watch the lifestyle of the local citizens.

In one day you will visit two cities that are close to each other and see the variety and beauty of them. Tbilisi is the largest city of the country and was founded in the 5th century C.E. It is very diverse in culture, styles, and traditions. Mtskheta is a small city, the spiritual center of the country, called “Second Jerusalem” and the place where the two rivers Aragvi and Mtkvari merge. You will see ancient historical monuments, have a stroll on brick streets, and will have the opportunity to watch the lifestyle of local citizens.

Your guide will meet you in the hotel reception. In the morning you will have a stroll in Tbilisi. During it you will visit:
Metekhi Church of Virgin Mary of the 13th century, there was a king’s palace on that place.
The Narikala Castle of 4th century, which was the most important outpost of the city.
The sulfur baths, which are located of the natural hot sulfur springs.
Meidan Square, which was an active market place in Great Silk Road period.
Jean Chardin Street, a street named after the famous French traveler and now the most popular place where tourists can have a rest in bars and restaurants.
The Tamada monument, a bronze monument of the figure of a Georgian host, who is the most important person in every Georgian party.
Sioni Cathedral, one of the most beautiful churches in Georgia of the 6th century, where Saint Nino’s cross is being kept.
Anchiskhati Church, the most ancient church in Tbilisi where the Anchi icon was being kept.
Rezo Gabriadze square, here there is a famous Gabriadze marionette theater and a fabulous tower.

After the visit in Tbilisi, you will travel to Mtskheta city. Here you will visit:
Jvari monastery of the 7th century, the unique historical monument that is taken in the UNESCO heritage list.
Svetisckhoveli cathedral of the 11th century, a beautiful masterpiece of the Georgian Renaissance. The Robe of Jesus Christ which had been brought from Jerusalem in the first century is kept here.
Samtavro monastery of the 11th century, the place where Saint Nino used to live when she reached the ancient capital city. For lunch you can taste Georgian cuisine at the best local restaurant in town, your guide will advise you.
