You'll travel by train from Tokyo to the historic coastal city of Kamakura where fascinating temples, shrines, and hiking trails wait to be explored.
In Kamakura, you’ll take the old-style electric train “Enoden” to Hase. Hase is famous for its beautiful garden and is also home to the impressive 13 meter-high Buddhist statue of Kamakura and the Hase-dera temple. You'll also check out the fantastic views of Kamakura Bay and see the Jizo statues.
Shirasu, known as whitebait, is the specialty of Kamakura. You'll get the chance to try it for lunch before visiting a small bamboo forest to enjoy a cup of hot matcha tea. You'll then visit one of the most important zen temples in Japan and last is the great Tsurugaoka Hachimangu, the most important shrine dating back to 1063.
