Have you ever been tubing on the "lazy river" at waterparks? How about through a massive natural gorge with rapids, and 72-foot high cliffs? That's what you're in for when you join this 2 day, once-in-a-lifetime group camping trip to Elora, Ontario. Campers should be prepared to hike, swim in an abandoned limestone quarry, and tube the white water rapids of Elora Gorge.
Intinerary:
Day 1 - Arrive at camp for a short tent setup demo. There will be a lunch and then you'll depart to Elora Quarry. You will love sitting on the beach or taking a dip in this abandoned limestone quarry (there is also a clifftop hiking trail). Afterwards, a short walk through the quaint little town of Elora will reveal Elora Gorge Falls & the spectacular Elora Gorge Lookout. Return to camp for the evening to enjoy a camp-cooked meal, some bocce ball and a campfire.
Day 2 - You will eat breakfast, pack up camp, and head off on a hike to Hole In The Rock to see the gorge up close before you ride the rapids. After lunch, you will tube down the Grand River through Elora Gorge (up to 3 times).
