Venice Carnival 2020: Minuetto dance with gala dinner at the Ridotto
- Live music, food, an historic location and dances for a fun night
- Enjoy the dinner and music by a baroque ensemble
- A unique oppurtunity to experience an authentic masked ball
- Discover the old noble palace where the Ridotto gaming took place
The Gala dinner is a chance to experience an authentic Carnival masked ball with the presence of a dance master. During and after dinner you can learn the basic steps - easy and fast learning - of the dances from 1700s and 1800s, such as minuet, counterdance, waltz, and other period dances.
The dinner is seated and a baroque ensemble will play live throughout the evening. The dinner includes a four-course menu with a welcome cocktail and wine.
The palace of the noble Dandolo was the first place to accommodate the Ridotto, public gaming rooms from 1638 till 1774. It used to be open during Carnival, which lasted several months, and during that time Giacomo Casanova considered the Ridotto as the stage setting and backdrop for his conquests. Now the hall belongs to the Hotel Monaco & Grand Canal: here you will enjoy this unique Carnival masked ball.
