Get ready to take a boat tour along the Papaloapan, the "river of the butterflies", the second most important watershed in Mexico. The tour will start in Tlacotalpan and end in Alvarado's Port. Tlacotalpan, also known as "The Pearl of the Papaloapan", is a town with well-preserved architecture and traditions. Declared a World Heritage by UNESCO, Tlacotalpan at the time of its marine boom came to receive large sailboats and schooners from Europe. You will visit the Nezahuelcoyolt Theatre or windward colossus, and the Agustín Lara house-museum.
Next, the tour continues to Alvarado, a city of commerce, where the purchase and sale of sea products are the most common and where its beautiful river carpentry works are recognized throughout Veracruz and the republic.
