Discover Wairarapa as you're picked up from Wellington and travel leisurely through the Hutt Valley and on to the Rimutaka Ranges. Stop at the top to admire the view before driving down to the sleepy town of Featherston. Then you'll head south to Martinborough through the typical rural New Zealand countryside featuring sheep, cattle and deer.
Upon your arrival at Martinborough, cruise through the town and get the option of visiting a local winery to sample a selection of the region's finest wines including the Pinot Noir variety. Alongside your guide, continue south to the historic Lake Ferry pub for a traditional fish'n'chips Kiwi style.
Next on the agenda after lunch, is to follow the coastline to the scenic fishing village of Ngawi and seize an encounter with the seal colony featuring gray fur seals and their pups. Sticking to the route, you'll continue down the rugged Southern coast around to the light house at Cape Palliser and work off the lunch as you climb the 254 steps to the top. Stop for an afternoon tea to take in all of the memorable experience you will have been on, before your trip back to Wellington.
