What to expect

Spend a half day deep-sea fishing in the channel between Unguja and Pemba, an area internationally recognised for big game fishing. Conditions here attract a wide variety of species, making it a rewarding setting whether you're a novice or an experienced angler.

At the time of booking, you can choose from different boat options depending on group size:

  • Small-sized boat for up to five passengers
  • Medium-sized boat for up to six passengers
  • Large-sized boat for up to eight passengers

Once on board, a qualified crew will guide you through the experience, explaining techniques, offering practical tips and providing support throughout the trip. Professional fishing tackle is included, and if you prefer to use your own lighter gear, you're welcome to bring it along. Tag and release is generally encouraged as part of responsible fishing practices.

Fishing opportunities vary with the seasons. From August to November, you'll find powerful yellowfin tuna, while billfish season runs from November to March, featuring blue, black and striped Marlin, as well as sailfish. This half-day experience serves as a well-rounded introduction to deep-sea fishing in Zanzibar.
