As one of the oldest towns on the Adriatic coast, Ulcinj has seen its fair share of invaders and pirates, but this all adds to its rich historic fabric, which weaves in and around the ancient castle. On this afternoon tour, you'll cruise along the coast for a guided walk around the old town followed by a peek inside a small palace museum.
We'll kick things off with a refreshing boat ride from the beach to the old town of Ulcinj. It's a short walk up the hill from the pier to the action, where you'll wander from the east gate to the west gate, taking in the town's 2,500 years of history as you go.
Learn about its time under Roman, Byzantine, Venetian and Ottoman rule while soaking up its tangle of cobbled streets, ancient walls and palaces between. You'll take a look inside one, the Venetian Palace, where the antique-filled Bey's House will be opened up for you. Follow it up with a snack and a coffee before the evening boat ride back.
