There's more to Canarian mojo than what you see spooned alongside potatoes. At El Molino Blanco, you'll get to find out what goes into this Tenerife staple by making your own. A local chef will introduce you to the story behind mojo and the ingredients and techniques traditionally used to prepare it. As local guide Lucía says, “Mojo is one of those flavours you'll find across the Canary Islands, but everyone has their own way of making it.”
Then, it's your turn to get stuck in. With the chef guiding you along the way, you'll prepare your own version of mojo, learning how the ingredients come together and where you can add a personal touch while keeping its Canarian roots in mind. Everything you need is provided, so you can concentrate on mixing, tasting and getting the balance of flavours just right.
Once your mojo is ready, you'll sit down to taste your handiwork and compare it with the creations made by the rest of the group. The workshop is held in a small group, giving you plenty of opportunity to ask questions and pick up tips from the chef. By the end, you won't just have tasted one of Tenerife's best-known sauces, you'll know a little more about the traditions behind it, too.
