Experience Boka Bay - What to see and do

Montenegro’s defining coastal feature is a vast inlet shaped like an angel’s wings and enclosed by the flanks of mountains. Explore Kotor Old Town

Protected by five kilometres of Venetian city walls, the pretty, stone-built town of Kotor seems largely unchanged since its medieval heyday. Climb the steps of the city walls up to the fortress for a fabulous view over the bay and mountains, visit the maritime museum or simply soak up the scenery at a café.

Wander the car-free streets of Perast

Italianate Perast enjoys a sunny, south-facing location opposite the narrow entrance to Boka Bay. Serving up faded grandeur, seafront eateries and a pair of beaches, this little village makes a great stop on a tour of the bay. For fabulous views, climb the bell tower of St Nicholas’s church.

Take a boat trip to Our Lady of the Rocks

As if the fairytale backdrop of Boka Bay wasn’t pretty enough, twin islands adorned with churches make it even more picturesque. Mariners once saw an apparition of the Virgin Mary in this spot so to mark each safe return from a voyage they added another rock until an island formed.
