Starting from looking up, the Northern lights (also called Aurora) are natural phenomena of dancing green, even purple colors within the night sky. During the day, a town to visit is Kirovsk, which is known for the Khibiny mountains and ski resorts. At the "Museum of Stone" (seen as a local Big Ben due to it being a similar-looking building) there are samples of rocks from all over the world and a huge collection of minerals from the Kola Peninsula. Also, there is a handmade ice museum with about 40 halls decorated by Russian, Norwegian and Finnish artists known as a "Snow Village".
To learn the history and culture, a visit to the “Sam-Syit” ethnic Sami Village, is where you can meet the indigenous Sami people. At the alley of sacred idols, you'll be able to make a wish before enjoying sleigh rides with reindeer and a banana ride behind a snowmobile.
On the coast of the Arctic Ocean, is the village of Teriberka to see snowy hills, “Dragon eggs” beach, and a graveyard of abandoned ships. Then, other popular attractions to see, are the “Alyosha” monument which is the highest in Russia (after the “Motherland” monument), and historical sites of the Second World War. Not forgetting the popular “selfie” spot of an obelisk with the coordinates of the city of Murmansk to ensure there is a photo to ignite the memories of everything discovered in Murmansk.
