No trip to Queenstown is complete without a cruise aboard the iconic vintage TSS Earnslaw steamship over to the idyllic Walter Peak High Country Farm for a fun, family-friendly adventure. Located on Lake Wakatipu’s south-western shores, Walter Peak High Country Farm is the perfect place to relax for a few hours by endeavouring on a farm tour hosted by one of the knowledgeable rural guides who will introduce you to some of the four-legged locals. Here you will get the opportunity to have a meet and greet with the friendly farm animals and get involved with farm life by feeding the sheep, alpacas and highland cows.
After, you'll be invited for afternoon tea at the newly renovated Walter Peak Woolshed, including sweet and savoury scones, as well as cakes and other tasty treats. Finally, you can wander to the amphitheatre to watch the rural guides demonstrate what a traditional New Zealand sheep shearing looks like, as well as witness the intelligent farm dogs get to work by rounding up the sheep.
