Exploring the Black Forrest

This half-day trip takes you from Kehl into Germany’s famous Black Forest region. It’s over an hour’s drive from port to forest, and your first stop’s a visit to a wood carving workshop. You’ll get to see how ornate wooden cuckoo clocks are made, and have a chance to buy one. There’s also time for a coffee and a slice of Black Forest cherry cake before getting back on the bus. From here you’ll make a beeline for the Black Forest Open Air Museum. This attraction is full of old German buildings in their original form, like a storehouse, a bakery and a grain house. You can walk around them, and see what German life was like in the 16th century, then have a bit of free time before transferring back to the ship.
