You'll be warmly welcomed at Mundo Maya Airport, followed by a pick-up from Flores Island before setting off for Tikal.
Upon arrival at Tikal, you'll embark on an immersive tour. Tikal, once the capital of a powerful ancient Mayan kingdom, boasts monumental architecture dating back to the 4th century BC. Its zenith was during the Classic Period (c. 200 to 900), when it held significant political, economic, and military sway over the Maya region. This city also had interactions with other areas throughout Mesoamerica, including the grand metropolis of Teotihuacan in the distant Valley of Mexico.
The tour is meticulously planned to cover approximately 70% of this historic site. You'll traverse original Mayan trails and causeways, allowing you to explore more while reducing your walking distance. Along these paths, expect to spot a variety of birds and witness monkeys leaping through the trees and vocalizing their presence.
