You'll enter the secret world of the Maya on this private evening tour with a difference. Visit a typical Maya house in the heart of the forest near Playa del Carmen and open your eyes to their food and rituals, then swim in a cenote during the hours of darkness.Journey to a Maya community in the jungle and enjoy a spiritual experience that you'll find nowhere else. We'll firstly visit a typical Maya hut to learn about their ancient customs and meet the local people, after which you'll be shown how to make tortillas and achiote chicken from scratch. Then a healer – or shaman – will take you step by step through the ancestral purification rituals, including seashells and fire in a temazcal, a stone-built sauna.Before dinner, we'll walk through the rainforest to an ancient cenote, where you'll be able to swim in the crystal-clear water.
