Your guide will retrace the history of the empire from its birth in 753 BC, telling you about the clashes between gladiators that took place in the Colosseum and the exciting events related to the kingdoms of Caesar and Nero.

After a break to catch your breath, you'll head to the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel where you'll soak up the magic and discover what makes these sites so special.

Meeting point:

Meeting point for the Vatican Tour: Meet at the bottom of the wide steps across the street from the entrance of the Vatican Museums. The steps are located between Caffè Vaticano and Hotel Alimandi Vaticano, on the corner of Viale Vaticano and Via Tunisi. Your guide will be wearing blue City Wonders polo shirts or jackets for easy recognition. Meeting Point for the Colosseum Tour: Meet at Largo Gaetana Agnesi, above the 2nd floor of the metro line B (blue line) stop "Colosseo". Your guide will be wearing a blue City Wonders polo shirt or jacket for easy recognition.

What to remember

Not allowed:

To avoid problems at the entrance, please do not bring large bags or backpacks. The Colosseum does not have any cloakroom facilities
Strollers or baby carriages are not allowed

Know in advance:

The tour starts at the Colosseum (9AM or 10AM depending on the season) and then at the Vatican (2.30PM). There is no transfer between the guided tours of the Vatican and the Colosseum
Each tour will be approximately 3 hours and the break between will be approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes
In case of last-minute, unpredictable closures of the venues, you will be offered an extended tour
Comfortable shoes are recommended
Please arrive at the meeting point 15 minutes prior to the start of the tour
The itinerary for our tours may differ from the advertised order of destinations. Any changes made to the tour itinerary are carefully planned and intended to enhance your overall experience
All participant names are required at the time of booking in order to enter the Colosseum. If the local operator does not receive the full customers' names, they will cancel the booking. Name changes are not permitted once the booking is confirmed
