Pick up from your hotel lobby and depart to Chiang Mai by road (3 hours drive) along picturesque scenic routes passing several beautiful northern mountains.
Arrive in Chiang Rai and visit the White Temple (Rong Khun Temple). The main temple building is a distinctive white color, decorated with fragments of reflective glass that can be seen from afar. Continue to the Golden Triangle (1-hour drive) where the borders of three countries; Thailand, Laos, and Myanmar are met.
See the Golden Buddha Statue and panoramic view of the Mekong River. Visit the Opium Museum, which displays all the stories about opium and the Golden Triangle. Next, you'll have lunch in a local restaurant.
Depart to Mae Sai Town, (30 30-minute drive) from the Thailand-Myanmar border which is also the northernmost point of Thailand. You can buy local products from China and Myanmar. Then transfer back to Chiang Mai late afternoon.
