If you thought southern Spain was all whitewashed villages, sun-bleached fields and bustling beaches on the Costa del Sol, think again. Trek through the silver mountain peaks and moon-like rock formations of El Torcal de Antequera, and you'll feel like you're on another planet. It's one of Europe's most impressive karst landscapes.
Follow an expert guide on a walk through this otherworldly landscape that's so special, it's been put on the UNESCO list in order to protect it. Arrive at the visitor centre, and you'll start by watching a short documentary on the natural park's geological history – it's around 150 million years old.
Then, set off on an hour-and-a-half's trek through deep ravines, pea-green valleys and weird and wonderful rock formations. There'll be showstopping viewpoints to snap a few selfies at, and with luck, you'll spot wildlife like snakes, vultures and Spanish Ibex. Back at base, there'll be a well-earned treat to round off your day.
