Experience a traditional tea ceremony in an authentic machiya wooden townhouse built over 100 years ago, where the historic interior feels like a living museum. Unlike many tea ceremonies, this experience is conducted at a table with chairs, so there is no need to sit on the floor. Enjoy a welcome drink from Kyoto's Fushimi sake district, including sake or umeshu, with nonalcoholic options available. A kimono option is also available, featuring beautiful silk pieces from the host's family gofukuya shop. Kimonos are available for guests of all ages, including children and infants. Then, learn from a tea ceremony instructor with over 30 years of experience. Whisk your own tea and enjoy it with traditional wagashi while learning about the ceremony's history and culture.
