Head to the Rota dos Cetaceos – ‘Cetacean Route' – base near the Funchal marina, where you'll receive expert information from the marine biologist team about the species that you'll likely be observing at sea – including bottlenose dolphins, pilot and sperm whales, and stately sea turtles.
Other team members are positioned at elevated look-out posts along the coast, so they will radio in the location of dolphin and whale pods.
