What to expect
Miri is a well-known city in Sarawak which is famed for being the location of Malaysia's first Oil Well that was discovered in the year 1910. Aside from the Oil Well, there are plenty of important landmarks found in Miri that contribute to the history of the city.

Stop by the Handicraft Heritage Centre to purchase some memorable souvenirs for your trip to Miri. Next, visit the Tua Pek Kong Temple, whereby according to legend, work started in the temple in 1913, in order to give thanks to the deity for helping to end a mysterious epidemic.

Another attraction of Miri would be Tamu Khas, whereby you can experience a local native market and purchase some local tropical fruits. Also, pay a visit to Sau Ching Tian Temple, which is one of the largest Taoist temple in Southeast Asia.

Your trip to Miri wouldn't be complete without a visit to Miri Crocodile Farm & Mini Zoo, the first and the largest crocodile farm in the northern region of Sarawak. The Crocodile Farm cum Mini Zoo is registered and recognised by the Convention of International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora.

Come face to face with more than 1,000 Estuarine Crocodile (Crocodylus Porosus) and Malayan Gharial (Tomistoma Schlegelii) in a 22 acres landscaped setting, with a natural breeding enclosure and perfectly man-made sanctuary ponds, specially carved out for the creatures. It is also home to other exotic animals from tropical countries.
