The Leezodrom Münster offers an immersive journey through time, exploring the eventful history of Germany's bicycle capital. On a stationary bike, visitors cycle virtually through five selected eras of the city's history – from the late 19th century into the future.
The experience at the Leezodrom combines three narrative spaces into an immersive journey through the city's past, present and future. It begins with an atmospheric film that highlights key locations, themes and perspectives of Münster today – from urban society and architecture to mobility and city life.
In the subsequent exhibition, guests immerse themselves in five selected eras of the city's history and get to know the fictional characters they will later encounter again in VR. The highlight is the interactive VR bike ride: a personal journey through Münster's history, accompanied by individual voices from every era.
Starting from the Leezodrom on Syndikatplatz, visitors traverse digitally reconstructed streets and encounter fictional characters who reflect on their lives and times in Münster. Each character offers personal insights into the mobility, everyday reality and social development of their time – always with a focus on the bicycle as a mirror of the era.
