Discover the nuragic village of Tiscali in the heart of Supramonte, surrounded by the wild nature of Sardinia.
Your adventure begins with a meeting at the Lanaitho base camp, where you'll receive a brief introduction to the route before transferring by 4x4 to the trailhead. From there, you'll trek through oak and juniper woodlands, breathing in the scents of Mediterranean scrub whilst admiring views of the Lanaitho valley below. After approximately an hour and a half of trekking, you'll reach the summit of Monte Tiscali, where a natural sinkhole reveals an ancient nuragic village – one of the island's most captivating archaeological sites. Sheltered by the mountains, this village represents a location of strategic and historical significance, which you'll explore during a guided tour.
Your return journey follows historic shepherds' and charcoal burners' paths back to base camp, where you'll savour a tasting of typical products including a platter of cold cuts, pecorino cheese, olives and tomatoes dressed with extra virgin olive oil, accompanied by a glass of red Nepente wine – the perfect way to round off your day of trekking, history and Sardinian flavours.
