This experience gives you the flexibility to choose between three routes:
- Rhine Falls to Eglisau one way (approximately 3 hours 15 minutes)
- Eglisau to Rhine Falls one way (approximately 4 hours)
- A return journey between Eglisau and Rhine Falls (approximately 8 hours)
Your trip begins on calm waters as you sail towards the Rhine Falls. On the way to Eglisau, the boat passes through three locks. You'll step ashore at each one to watch how the vessel is transported to the next water level. The route continues downstream into the Rhine Falls basin, ending at the Rheinau power station. Here, you'll see the boat transferred over the first weir and moved across to the opposite side on a trolley.
The journey then carries on past the island of Rheinau and its monastery towards the second weir. You'll glide beneath a 200‑year‑old wooden bridge before reaching the third and final weir, known as the Stollenauslauf. After passing this last weir, the Rhine returns to its natural flow, offering a peaceful stretch of river scenery before arriving in Eglisau.
If you book the round trip, the return journey follows the same route after a 45‑minute break.
