After a nose around, we'll sip a little local liqueur made by the owner – trust us, it's a treat. Then it's on to the maze-like Plakes quarter, with its narrow lanes and timeworn houses, bright splashes of bougainvillea and classic blue shutters. Limnia is next, where you'll have the chance to pop into either Panagia Limnia or the Holy Trinity Church – both full of stories and island spirit.We'll follow a coastal path down to the Old Port, soaking up the sea views before heading back towards the start. But not before one final stop – the House of Alexandros Papadiamantis, one of Greece's literary legends.
