The inside story
Naissaar Island will captivate you with its exciting Soviet past, relaxing sandy beaches, hiking trails and more! The island is 11km long and 4km wide just off the Estonian coast and is a great place for a history hit, with its military history dating back to 1730. You can expect to see old sea mine cases (which the island manufactured during World War II), military buildings, and a small USSR Museum. Don’t worry, if history isn’t your thing, Naissaar is a nature lover’s paradise with its beaches and wild forest trails which you can explore. Why not rent a bike to cycle around the island and admire views of Tallinn from across the water?
