Timișoara

Timișoara is the 3rd largest city in Romania and the main social, economic and cultural center in the Western portion of the country. The first record of the city dates back to the ancient Roman fortress, Castrum Regium Themes, in 1212. Used as an important crossroads due to its location. Due to its location, Timișoara, would later be destroyed by the Tatars and conquered by the Tuks until it came under Austrian rule in 1718. This mix of cultures can be seein in neighborhoods throughout the city even today.
