The inside story
Masino Castle, located in Caravino, was first built in the 11th century for the Valperga Counts, the supposed offspring of King Arduino of Ivrea. Over the centuries Masino Castle has undergone significant transformations, becoming a splendid country estate that can still be visited and admired today. The castle is surrounded by a huge park that features beautiful gardens and a hedge labyrinth.
The castle was the residence of the Valperga Counts for ten centuries and has been the site of many clashes between noble families of the time due to its strategic position as they competed for the Canavese territory.
