- Discover the Bastianich Winery
- Taste exceptional Cru wines
- Take a tour of the winery
Acquired in 1997, The Bastianich vineyards are unique in their varied position and microclimate. The original vineyard, located in the communes of Buttrio and Premariacco, lies in the warmest, southernmost zone of Friuli Colli Orientali. These terraced vineyards are warmed by the heat of the Friulian plains and the Adriatic sea.
The deep connection of the Bastianich Family stretches back decades and generations. From early connections with the greatest winemaking families in the 1970s and 1980s, to the promotion of the finest wines Friuli had to offer in their Family Restaurants in New York City and beyond... Culminating in the realization of a dream to create great wines of longevity and complexity in their own vineyards. The Bastianich Family has been one of the greatest supporters of Friulian wines in the United States and around the world. Lidia Matticchio Bastianich and her son Joe are known internationally for their eclecticism as public figures, television icons and writers, but mostly as being passionate wine lovers.
Brand and style
The Bastianich brand is strictly connected to the values of the family namesake, even if a lofty goal of the family has always been to give light and individual life to all its projects undertaken, valuing every single element and respecting the particular history/territory/culture of each initiative.
The style of the wines aspires for complexity and the creation of a whole, always connected and held up by an exceptional balance and equilibrium. Characteristics that fuse and harmonize among one another give the wines a marked sense of elegance and quality.
This winery is not an architectural work of art, but the atmosphere accentuates the beautiful valley covered in vineyards that is home to the winery. With the tour located in this context, the idea is to transmit not only the story of the winery but to give a full picture of the surrounding area, vineyards and climate that influence not only the Bastianich wines but also other wines produced in the Colli Orientali region. Among the Bastianich wines, the Cru wines are certainly the most unique. As the famous staples of the winery, there are the red and white Vespa labels in addition to the "black labels" of the Plus and Calabrone wines.
