On this full day tour, you'll be taken by 4x4 where no car can go. Drive into the heart of Matanzas province as you trundle by sugar plantations and sleepy villages of the Yumuri Valley. Visit Coral beach, snorkel in the stunning Saturno Cave, have lunch in a ranch and enjoy a motorboat adventure on the river – all in just one day.
First up is Coral beach, where you can wade into the waters of the bay and snorkel to the outlying reef – a mass of multicoloured corals, sponge, and fish. Then, head to Saturno Cave to snorkel and swim among the fish and stalagmites. You'll also be driven through the provincial capital, Matanzas, where the peeling pastel-coloured colonial houses evoke the faded glory of Cuba's golden age.
You'll break for lunch at Rancho Gaviota and discover a genuine Cuban rural environment. After lunch, you'll head to the mangrove-fringed River Canimar for a motorboat ride to round off an action-packed day.
