The tour will acquaint you with the history of the construction of this majestic pre-revolutionary church, made in the old-Slovenian, pre-Russian style; tell you about the unique facade mosaics, stained-glass windows and icons of the Cathedral. This is the only church in the world where the works of one of the most talented architects and icon painters of the 20th century, Novoskoltsev, have been preserved, with his personal signature on part of the icons of the iconostasis.
The Cathedral also have a unique icon donated by the Imperial family for the consecration of the church. We will climb the bell tower, where we will see eleven unique bells cast in St. Petersburg foundries, whose melodic chime during Orthodox holidays echoes throughout the Old City. The domes of the Cathedral offer one of the best views of the Old Town. The cathedral is one of the highest points of Vyshgorod (High city) and not a single panoramic postcard of the Old Town can do without its silhouette. With the blessing of Arch-bishop Eugene, the tour is led by Deacon Ilja.
At the end of the tour, you will have the opportunity to take photographs, ask father Ilja religious and ecclesiastical questions, and venerate the relics of saints placed in part of the icons of the Cathedral. When visiting the church, we ask you to be in modest clothes, keep silence and not disturb the worshipers.
