Life in London continued on, with many American, Australian, Canadian, New Zealandian and other Commonwealth troops stationed here. Romance bloomed despite war with many locals striking up relationships with the visiting troops. On this tour you’ll learn about the many songs popularised at the time, now ingrained in the British psyche. This walking tour takes in the many memorials to both wars, as well as exploring the role of the Royal Family in those hard times, and of course war heroes like Sir Winston Churchill. You’ll be taken past Churchill’s War Rooms, the old War Office, Downing Street and Parliament Square among many other famous sites.
