You'll follow in the footsteps of the first ever Olympians on this exclusive excursion to Olympia and its ancient shrines and temples. The trip also includes a visit to the Archaeological Museum of Olympia and some free time in the modern-day village.
We'll hit the ground running at Olympia, located in the forested foot of Mt Kronos. With the help of an iPad to illustrate what you're viewing, your guide will show you around the original stadium – including the finishing line and waterside gym – as well as all the religious shrines that are packed into this ancient sanctuary. You'll wander past temples, altars and statues dedicated to the gods, but the must-see are the ruins of the Temple of Zeus, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.
Rounding off the visit is a stop at the Archaeological Museum of Olympia, where an impressive collection of artefacts includes a winged Nike, finely carved statuettes and bronze armour. After the tour, you'll have free time to explore the village.
