Discover Pecs

The city of Pecs doesn’t have the same big-ticket reputation as Budapest, but its sightseeing appeal ranks it among the best places to visit in Hungary. Plus, the crowds are smaller, thanks to its below-the-radar status. On this trip, you’ll start by heading to a Hungarian restaurant for a taste of the regional cuisine. Once you’re fuelled up on three courses of local food, you’ll set out on a walking tour of the city. Gothic chapels and Romanesque basilicas are on show at Pecs Cathedral, and Szechenyi Square’s a hive of activity. It hosts carnivals and wine festivals throughout the year, and you’ll see brass statues, fountains and the green-domed Mosque of Pasha Qasim as you pace around. At the end of the tour, you’ll board a bus transfer to the ship at Mohacs.
